Rain Rain Go Away! The weather forecast was rather dim leading into Saturday’s race. As the day progressed, no rain, just sunshine, so we proceeded to SSP for some competitive mud slingin’. At the pit gate I pulled a No. 3, which put me on the pole for the second heat. From there on the night was a disaster.
From the start of the heat the motor was just flat, braking up, and real sick. I think if the motor would have been running right, I could have finished much better. After finishing at the back off my heat, we looked into the motor. All signs are pointing to a bad head gasket, which to get the heads looked over means a few weeks watching, due to low funds.
Right before getting to go out for our feature, (that I would have only made one lap because of the head) it started raining.
Racing is a very tough sport. Not only do you need to know how to work on the car, and learn how to drive it, you have to find ways to persevere over adversity, within your means. Adversity builds character, and the team and I will return more determined than ever to prove what we are capable of, in a couple weeks. We will see you all at the track when we can return.
Thanks and God Bless,
Garrett
